Parnassus. The king of Winter.

At winter, Mount Parnassus is center-stage because it is near Athens, Lamia  and Patras, therefore it ranks first among the skiers’ preferences. It has 2 ski centers in operation, the Parnassus Ski Center (with the areas of Kelaria and Fterolaka), perhaps the most known ski centers in the country, and the Gerondovrahos Ski Center, which is the first ski center on Mount Parnassus, established by the Athens Skiers Club.

Parnassus Ski Center

Parnassus Ski Center operates from December until the beginning of May, and is located at Kelaria and Fterolaka. The elevation ranges from 1,600 to 2,250 meters. The center provides 19 ski runs, 7 ski routes, 10 paths and 3 mini-runs for beginners, totaling 36 km overall. The various slopes for beginners, intermediate and experienced skiers have a length of run from 50m to 4 km, whereas, for those who are keen on adventure, there are 12 «black» back country runs with deep snow.

Overall, there are 13 main ski lifts in operation: 6 aerial lifts, 6 surface lifts and 1 gondola with a capacity for 4 persons. For beginners, the center provides 3 mini runs with baby lifts which assist tremendously every new skier in their first attempts.

The Resort is well known for its high safety standard facilities, its equipment, and its overall fine operation. At Kelaria 1750, a ski and snowboard maintenance and repair shop is available. There is also a restaurant, associated ski and snowboard schools, ski and snowboard equipment rental shops; baby-sitting service and playground facilities are also available.

Gerondovrahos Ski Center

Gerontovrachos is a small ski resort located on the slopes of Mount Parnassus at an altitude of 1850 meters and named after one of the mountain peaks, which operates on weekends and holidays.  It is the first ski center that operated in Parnassus and consists of 2 surface lifts for experienced skiers, three slopes, a chalet with a restaurant, a coffee shop, a rental shop, a ski school and clinic.  From the centre’s chalet, one can enjoy the view over the snowy slopes of Gerontovrachos and the Corinth Sea.
