Baroutospilia is an impressive cave with a stunning view to the surrounding highlands of the sublime Mount Parnassus. This mysterious and imposing cave is one of the largest in Greece. After passing its large entrance one meets a vast central space with a high ceiling, large width and depth.  Their is also a second chamber large in size, which is located on the left.  Baroutospilia is filled with stone river basins that form large pools and beautiful stalagmite formations which resemble statues.

How to get there

Driving from Lilea, approximately half-way before arriving to the village Mariolata, the Kakorema gorge is on your left. There is a small church named Agia Paraskevi, from where the pathway begins towards Baroutospilia. Follow the forest authorities signage «Path To Agia Paraskevi – Baroutospilia» leading through an accessable dirt road to the gorge.  After 800 meters, you will see another sign towards an easily ascendable pathway on the right hand side of the gorge. The pathway is smooth and easy to follow. It is about an hour’s walking before arriving to the famous Baroutospilia.
